This is an amazing 14-day self drive and dive adventure safari. Whereby you travel safely on and off the beaten-track in a convoy. You will be traveling through Mpumalanga into Mozambique  under the guidance of a professional guide, who will be leading the way in his fully equipped 4x4. We will be traveling through some of the most beautiful wilderness areas in South Africa, Swaziland & Mozambique. We will also be diving the amazing clear waters of Mozambique. While on this safari you will experience part of both worlds being the big 5 game and marine life. We will be visiting  game reserves and have the chance to do some snorkeling or even do some scuba diving.


On this safari you will be staying in chalets/tented lodge in the various camp sites, where your needs will be catered

  • Visa Requirements 

    When visiting South Africa for a period of up to 90 days, travellers from Commonwealth countries, Japan, the USA and the European Union do not require a visa. Visitors who intend to work in South Africa must apply for a work permit abroad at the South African Consulate or Embassy. Before departing for South Africa, check with the nearest South African  Consulate or Embassy for any possible changes regarding the visa requirements. Passports must carry a validity of 6  months beyond intended date of departure from South Africa . Note, Travellers should have a minimum of two blank pages in their passport to enable the entry visa to be issued. If there is insufficient space in the passport entry will be denied. 

Itinerary:

 

Day 1-2 Johannesburg to Zululand

Today we will be leaving Johannesburg at 6:30 into the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Our first stop will be in the Mkuzi Game Reserve which is a safe haven for the endangered Black Rhino. We will be exploring the reserve on a game drive, and also visit one of the hides over looking one of the waterholes in the reserve. This is where you will see the game coming down to drink (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

 

Day 3-5 Kosi bay

After a good nights rest we depart for Kosi bay National Reserve which covers an area of fertile estuary, mangrove, dunes and lakes. This area will be explored on foot or by kayak. It is in this area that the Leatherback turtles lay there eggs on the beaches in season. November to January. We will also visit the Kosi bay river mouth to snorkel or even just watch the local fisherman at working the estuary. We may even have a chance to meet the local villages and learn some of the Zulu culture and customs (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

 

Day 6 Swaziland

Today we will be in Swaziland in the Hlane Game reserve. This area is surrounded by amazing African bushveld. We will be going on a game walk with one of the local rangers looking for Rhino, elephant and wonderful bird life (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

 

Day 7 Mozambique

After a good nights rest we will be entering into Mozambique towards Maputo. Maputo was formally called Lorenzo Marques- Portuguese and the African culture meet in an exquisite way of sea food and a vibrant way of life. You will have a chance to sample the local sea foods here (Own expense) (Breakfast & Dinner).

 

Day 8-10 Inhambane

Today you will make your way to Inhambane which has a strong Arab influence. This dates back to the slave, spice and gold era. We will also explore the area from the cathedral to the town. Then we will make our way to Praia de Barra. Where we will be staying in casitas under the palm trees over looking the beach. there will be dhow rides and scuba diving available at your own expense (Breakfast & Dinner).

 

Day 11 Bilane

Today we will be turning south again to the town of Bilane, which is on the shore of the Uembje lagoon. This lagoon is 8 km wide and 27 km long with clear water and its white sands. You can spend the afternoon kayaking or snorkelling or even swimming  in the shallow waters at you own expense (Breakfast & Dinner).

 

Day 12-13 Kruger National Park

Today we will be entering back into South Africa and the Kruger National Park known for its big game. We will drive though the reserve on the look out for the big 5. You will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the wild African wilderness Chalets (Breakfast & Dinner).

 

Day 14 Johannesburg

Today we will be making out way back to Johannesburg via the Panoramic rout of Mpumalanga (Breakfast).
