Day 1:
We Leave Johannesburg/Pretoria on route to Kosi Bay
on the Kwazulu Natal north coast. This is
where we spend our first night camping in a
comfortable campsites of the KZN Wildlife
Department. Here the tour leader/guide will give you
a run down of our route and itinerary for the next
few days. All the vehicles will be issued with
two way radios for the duration of the trip, this
way can stay in contact with each other.
Day 2:
Today after a good nights rest and a hearty
breakfast we will set off for the Ponta border post.
It will not be necessary to refuel as we would have
on the way to Kosi bay the day before. On reaching
the border post at Ponta we will deal with
the formality and enter Mozambique. On our
five-hour sandy drive through the Maputo Elephant
Reserve, I'm sure we will
catch a glimpse of the countries last wild
elephants. On reaching the village of Santa Maria,
we will leave our vehicle safely in the local lodge's
parking area. Then we will board the boats to Inyaka
Island. We will say with our hosts from Indigo
Charters Camp for the next three nights. The camp
consists of a number of two bed grass and thatch
chalets with beds bedding and mosquito nets, and
there are communal ablution facilities. There is a
central fire area and dinning room where we will
have dinner.
Day 3-4:
We will spend the next two days just relaxing on
unspoiled clean beaches. We can even do some
snorkelling on beautiful corral gardens. We will
even have time to meander through the islands narrow
roads and taste some of the local beers at roadside
cafés. We will be taken everywhere by boat and in
that way get to explore Inyaka's
neighbouring islands and get a good feel for this
magnificent coast. We will be treated to a
magnificent "eat as much
as you like" seafood
buffet at one of the quaint local Portuguese
restaurants. Arrangements can be maid to go fishing
or diving before hand.
Day 5:
After breakfast we pack up and cross back to the
mainland where we retrieve our vehicles and to
return to Kosi Bay. This is where we spend our last
night camping at Kosi Bay and enjoy our last night
together.
Day 6:
Sadly after breakfast we head off home until our
next adventure together.
